The youth's mission statement is:
"A loving group of friends having fun in a fellowship based on God, ministry, breaking bread, and sanctuary!"
When we say Youth at Rush Creek, we are talking about two groups. These groups are called CYF and Chi Rho. These are standard terms for groups in the Disciples of Christ. CYF stands for Christian Youth Fellowship and is our 9th through 12th grade high schoolers. Chi Rho is our middle school children, grades 6th through 8th.
CYF and Chi Rho meet separately for Bible class every Sunday at 9:45 a.m., except the 1st Sunday of the month, when we have a Sunday brunch starting at 9:00 a.m.
On the first and third Sundays, both groups meet from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
On the 4th Sunday, CYF go to a restaurant for lunch together following the second morning service.
Each group goes on two retreats or rallies during the year. They also each go on a mission trip every summer.
